FBI director tells Congress agency uses drones for surveillance on U.S. soil
Wed Jun 19, 2013
MDB, A drone is not the same thing as remote controlled. A drone is autonomous. An agent programs in gps coordinates and the drone flies there and back by itself.
Surveillance helped stop plots against NYSE and New York subway, official says
Tue Jun 18, 2013
I'll bet Eric would change his tune if instead of some shadowy back-office collection of this data it were an agent who came to his door every day and demanded he recount every phone call he made, every email he sent, everything he searched for, in the past 24 hours.
Cheney says NSA monitoring could have prevented 9/11
Sun Jun 16, 2013
You all said it best. But I still have to try. You, Mr. Cheney, had the intelligence already. More information would not have helped you, because you did not act on what you had. The exact same thing happened in Boston.
Obama wants federal agencies to free up more wireless spectrum
Fri Jun 14, 2013
Mobile broadband isn't viable long-term like this. It's not like home broadband where you can just lay down another fiber or cable. Spectrum is finite and we will run out of it. Let's just hope they don't eat into the HAMs like usual.
6 things you can do now to be stealthier on the Internet
Thu Jun 13, 2013
In reply to: Jonathan Reid-1158169 #2 Terrorists already know how to avoid being tracked. Which is why I've been so angry about the surveillance. It tracked ordinary people who just want to live their lives while doing nothing to stop terrorism. Any terrorists stopped by this were small time morons …
Poll: Americans' faith in Congress lower than all major institutions -- ever
Thu Jun 13, 2013
This measure doesn't matter. You only vote for less than 1% of Congress. And by and large Americans love their own reps, they just hate everybody else's!!! A resident of Alaska has no right to tell the citizens of Boston what their priorities are.
Opinion: Patenting natural DNA never made sense
Thu Jun 13, 2013
My take on it as someone in the field of biology, Monsanto et al can't patent the gene itself. But they can patent the method of putting the gene into the plant. They can patent the use of the gene for the production of a pesticide within the crop. But the sequences themselves are free and clear, be …
Report: Apple looking at bigger iPhone screens, multiple colors
Thu Jun 13, 2013
The beginning of the end for Apple. If people stop buying the iPhone it will take more than a bigger screen or fun colors to bring them back. Nevermind the people who buy Apple products because they are "above" a big screen or fun colors.
Supreme Court says genes can't be patented; patient advocates and researchers cheer
Thu Jun 13, 2013
Chris, Your statement of past events infringes on my patent. Hope you have a really good lawyer. I've already soaked every publisher of history books for a hefty settlement!
After Scouts lift gay youth ban, Baptist group calls for firings
Wed Jun 12, 2013
It gets worse. With this latest ruling they allow gay Muslims. And they have a recycling merit badge. THE LIBERAL AGENDA HAS INFILTRATED THE BOY SCOUTS! Next thing you know it's fire and brimstone from the skies, rivers and seas boiling, forty years of darkness, the dead rising from their graves, hu …
